The Federal Department of Health has been undertaking a consultation process to assist its consideration of the recommendations of the Government’s Review of the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (www.health.gov.au). The Department has engaged Deloitte to support them in undertaking these consultations.
The consultation team are looking to engage with practicing care providers and provider organisations as well as organisations that represent care providers, such as the NSWNMA. They are particularly interested to hear from members of the NSWNMA who potentially work with the PCEHR on a regular basis to understand their views and to inform how the recommendations of the PCEHR Review will be implemented.
Feedback can be provided in a number of ways:
- While previously provider consultations have been held in Sydney, another session has been scheduled to be held in Sydney on 3 September from 6pm – 8pm. You can register to attend the session by email to pc***************@de******.au and provide your name and contact details. Please also advise Mark Kearin, Professional Officer NSWNMA by email mk*****@ns****.au that you are attending the session, Mark will also be attending.
- The Department has published an online survey for any interested stakeholder members. The link to the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/pcehrconsultation.
- There is also the opportunity for any member to provide any feedback on implementation issues until 1 September 2014. If you do have any issues regarding the implementation please provide them to Mark Kearin, Professional Officer on email mk*****@ns****.au by 28 August 2014 so we may include them in the NSWNMA response.
The consultation team appreciate that this is short notice, unfortunately they have a very constrained amount of time to conduct the consultation sessions and the Government is keen to hear the views of key stakeholders.
Should you have any questions regarding the consultation session please do not hesitate to contact Iris Hilgers on 0405 962161 (ih******@de******.au) or Dr Mark Watson on 0419 565 940 (ma********@de******.au), or Mark Kearin, Professional Officer NSWNMA by email as per above or by telephone 8595 2133.
