As health professionals we need to ensure people in our care who are having difficulty can be appropriately managed and cared for.

The lack of recognition and appropriate management of patients, whose condition is deteriorating, has been identified as a contributing factor for many adverse events worldwide.

Clinicians need to be concerned and have the skills to recognise and manage the deteriorating patient. This requires the ability to identify signs of deterioration and escalate as needed.

This workshop will cover key elements of deterioration such as:

  • When to worry;
  • A-G Assessment;
  • Urinary system changes;
  • Neurological changes;
  • Respiratory system changes;
  • Circulatory system changes; and
  • Communication for detecting and maintaining patient safety.

Please read the NSWNMA Education Cancellation, Refund and Catering Policy prior to registering for this course.

Lunch and refreshments are provided.

A CPD Certificate will be provided to attendees at the end of the seminar.
