An Engaging Day of Core Midwifery
This year, the NSWNMA’s seminar will focus on core midwifery with an engaging program, including birth photography tips, legal advice for midwives, and a panel on caring for those outside established guidelines. The day will end with a comedy performance by a midwife. Oceane Campbell, author of Labour of Love, will also have a stall to introduce her book.

- Leona McGrath – a Proud Woopaburra and Kuku Yalanji Woman, is a midwife and artist dedicated to supporting the recruitment and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nursing and midwifery professionals
- Kate Kennedy – an award winning birth photographer based in Newcastle
- Benish Hader – Legal Officer, Professional Services NSWNMA. Provides legal guidance on professional practice and regulatory matters
- Alexandra Emerton – Clinical Midwifery Consultant working in the Naamuru Parent and Baby unit at RPA
- FARE – FARE (Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education) is a not-for-profit organization focused on creating an Australia free from alcohol harm, promoting healthy communities and equitable laws, policies, and programs
- Justine Parsons. Clinical Nurse Consultant, NICU John Hunter Children’s Hospital. Baby Steps: Greening the NICU-What are the challenges?
