As health professionals, we need to ensure people in our care who are having difficulty can be appropriately managed and cared for.

The lack of recognition and appropriate management of patients, whose condition is deteriorating, has been identified as a contributing factor for many adverse events worldwide.

Clinicians need to be concerned and have the skills to recognise and manage the deteriorating patient. This requires the ability to identify signs of deterioration and escalate as needed.

This will be delivered over a series of 3 webinars – each webinar is 2 hours, 10am to 12pm: Tuesday 8, 15 and 22 July 2025.

The three webinars will cover key elements of deterioration such as:

  • DETECT and A-G Assessment;
  • When to worry;
  • Urinary system changes;
  • Neurological changes;
  • Respiratory system changes;
  • Circulatory system changes; and
  • Communication for detecting and maintaining patient safety.
