Fair deal or no deal in the Trans-Pacific Partnership

Public meeting at the Multi Purpose Centre

123 Flora Street, Sutherland

6.30pm for 7pm start, Tuesday 29 April 2014

The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) is a free trade agreement involving Australia, the US and 10 other countries. Negotiations are secret and the agenda is being driven by the US on behalf of its global corporations. They want changes to our laws to increase their corporate rights and profits at the expense of our rights. The TPP could give foreign investors special rights to sue our governments over health and environment laws, higher medicine prices and threats to our internet freedom.

Speakers followed by Q&A

Jemma Williams, Australian Fair Trade and Investment Network (AFTINET)

Isabel McIntosh, Lock the Gate Alliance

Michael Whaites, NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association
