- 12-month program with 2 x 6-month placements or 4 x 3-month placements in Medical, Surgical, Paediatrics, Mental Health and Community Health (incorporating Community Nursing and Transitional Aged Care).
- Placements can be tailored to the individual
- Structured education sessions throughout the program and problem-based peer learning sets with case study presentations.
- Opportunities for clinical supervision, ongoing networking and support with peers, mentors and educators.

- Armidale Hospital offers a two-year transitional nurse second year program which has elective rotations through Emergency, Intensive Care (ICU), Medical, Operating Theatres, Paediatrics and Surgical.
- Armidale Hospital also offers a post graduate Midwifery program supported through Charles Sturt University.
