Nursing GradStart
Preference LHD
- 12-month programs
- Facilities include Westmead hospital, Blacktown hospital, Mount Druitt hospitals, Auburn Hospital, Mental Health Services and Community Service
- Provides corporate and workplace orientation
- paid educational support days
- 2 x 6-month supported clinical rotations. Rotations vary for each individual e.g. Rotate through different clinical specialities in a single facility, rotate into a different service or facility, Rotate through variations of service provision within a single speciality
- Rotations include Major Trauma, Transplant, Cardiothoracic, Neonatal Intensive Care (ICU), Paediatrics, Acute Mental Health, Addiction Medicine, Imaging Aboriginal Health, Complex Surgery, Perioperative Services, Cancer Services, Oral Health, Population Health, Community, Mental health, Palliative Care
- a wide range of specialties to support career development and future specialisation.
- After completion of GradStart opportunity to complete a 2nd year specialty program in perioperative nursing
- Orientation will consist of the following components: WSLHD Corporate Orientation, WSLHD Nursing & Midwifery Clinical Orientation, WSLHD Nursing & Midwifery Transition to Professional Practice Orientation

Midwifery MidStart
- 12-month program
- Part time positions of 32 hours p/w
- Facilities include Auburn, Blacktown and Westmead hospitals
- Opportunity to work in all areas of maternity services, including Antenatal Clinic, Birth Unit, Postnatal Ward, Newborn Care and our Community Midwifery Unit
- Run in partnership with Western Sydney University, University of Technology Sydney, Charles Sturt University
